Wakeland Color Guard
Welcome to the website of the Wakeland Color Guard program at Wakeland High School. Currently in their 17th season, the program strives to display excellence in the areas of artistry, athleticism, and academia. The color guard will proudly perform with the Wakeland High School Band and Percussion program at surrounding Bands of America (BOA) and University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions. The winter guard competes in both their local circuit with North Texas Color Guard Association (NTCA) and nationally with Winter Guard International (WGI).

2019 Interest Meeting - Thursday, April 25th (6pm - 7:30pm)
Clinics - April 30th - May 2nd (6pm - 9pm)
Audition Day: Saturday, May 4th (10am - 2pm)
FISD Solo and Ensemble
When: Saturday, April 27th
Where: Lebanon Trail High School
Cost: $10 per individual
Solo and Ensemble is open to any FISD Color Guard member. Those at Wakeland's campus may use this to qualify for points towards their letter jacket. Members who receive high marks will be awarded a medal.
Each performance must be 1.5 minutes in length, not to exceed 3 minutes. There is no minimum equipment time needed. All "legal" equipment (flag, rifle, sabre, swing flag, etc) may be used, in addition to dance.
Solos: Will be judged on vocabulary and content. Encourage performers to utilize the performance space to their advantage.
Ensembles: Minimum of 2 members, maximum of 6. Performers will be judges on vocabulary, content, and exploration of space around the performance space.

Current members and immediate family receive a weekly newsletter during the indoor and outdoor performance seasons. Rehearsal schedules and performance itineraries, as well as school, membership, and general affairs will be shared via email.
